May Days

For our 7th anniversary John-Mark surprised me again with tickets to see the Phil Harmonic at the Disney Concert Hall. It was our first time seeing the new conductor Gustavo Dudamel. He's so passionate! We've been to 4 of these concerts together and have made it a yearly tradition. We love it. What a wonderful evening out!

Isn't this the most spectacular building ever!
So, we are now enjoying the fruit of John-Mark's labor! It all taste heavenly. We are waiting for our tomatoes to turn red but are enjoying our lettuce, peas, cucumbers, swiss chard and kale. I have included pictures of week 6-9

Garden-Week 6
Our HarvestThe most wonderful ingredients for a delicious salad

Garden-Week 7
We celebrated Mother's Day at my sister's home in Dana Point. Great Meal and a Great Walk along the Beach. John-Mark and the Kids surprised me with some terra cotta pots which will sprout beautiful things in a month or two.

Garden-Week 8

We love and adore this girl
Her brown eyes...they don't come much more beautiful than that!

So Gabriella and I have been talking about painting her finger nails. I didn't want to do it until I found a nail polish that wasn't so laden with harmful toxics! We attended the "You Are What You Eat" conference a few weeks ago (which we loved by the way) and there I found a non-toxic nail polish called Pritinails. You too can find one at the natural Mama and Baby store Bellysprout here in Fullerton. I picked out a pink color for my girl of course and that night after her bath, she had her first manicure. :)

We had a great time of fellowship and dinner with our closest Friends a couple weeks back. It's always wonderful to spend time with these men and women and little ones!! We have 7 little ones between all of us!

Here are all the Men and their Boys (L to R)
Kit & Ryder, Mark & Hank, Brian & Caleb (Mike's youngest), JM & Jude, Mike & Ethan
Garden-Week 9
Snap Peas
Persian Cucumbers Hiding
The Peas are taller than JM now!!

A few months back we were asked by the leaders of our "Engaged couples class" at church to consider mentoring a newly engaged couple. I think JM and I both felt a little inadequate when considering mentoring this young couple but we felt that the Lord wanted us to take this opportunity. Were we ever blessed!! We met with Amber and Derek for 7 weeks or so and let me tell you...this was as equally for US as it was for them. We are so thankful God has brought them into our lives! What a special time of fellowship and sharing we had. God used this time with Amber and Derek to strengthen our marriage as well as prepare them for what lies ahead. We wish we could go to their wedding on June 22nd...but it's in Ecuador!! Can't wait to see them when they get back!
Amber and Derek...aren't they adorable.
Jude is 10 months. Can you believe this!! Our boy is a new man! He's getting his 3rd tooth, He's crawling, touching things he ought not to, screaming, signing, eating every thing offered to him including kale, snap peas and grated zucchini and saying Mama..FINALLY! Jude is a joy. You can see that my photo shoot are not as simple these days. He leaves right in the middle of them and eats my sign!!

Hey there! Just catching up on blogs. I'm a bit behind! heh heh. Lots of fun pics - i can't wait to have a garden at our new place! I, too, just found a lovely non-toxic nail polish - it's called Zoya and so far I can only find it online (zoya.com). Shame we don't have a store like Belly Sprout nearby!
