Yesterday's Treasure is Now Today's Trash

As soon as I become pregnant and hormonal I start making lists of all the things I want to accomplish or get done before the new baby arrives...deep clean the fridge, purge cupboards and closets, move around furniture (JM not me), etc.. I have a list that I have not completed yet, but I have 4 more months to go.

Now, in regards to Jude, there were 2 things I wanted to accomplish before the baby comes. First,...Potty Train. I reeeeally would prefer to have only 1 in diapers. But in talking about it, JM and I decided we'll try and tackle that after our Mammoth trip. Secondly, I wanted to wean him of his beloved "Paci". He really only used it for naps and at bed time, but I could tell it was still going to be a struggle for him to give it up.

It's been 2 weeks and I am happy to report that he is sleeping well through the night without it. Naps are still sometimes a struggle for him as he will wake up in the middle and want some paci comfort. Today he did great and slept 2 1/2 hours straight. I can not take all the credit though. JM is so good with this boy. He has a Papa's touch and there were several days I called him at work asking for advice when Jude struggled during his nap. So mission accomplished on the paci...now for the pee pee and poo poo. Never potty trained a boy before...I imagine it's quite different. Yay.

They can take away my paci but I won't let them have my blankie

My sis has all the good shoes

Our Big Boy. He's growing up and talking so much more these days. His new favorite phrase "Hi People." He and Gabriella are really playing together for reals now. It's so fun to see them crack each other up, chasing each other and snuggling with each other. I pray this is the beginning of a beautiful brother/sister relationship. We'll see what this new baby will bring to the sibling dynamic that is already established. I'm glad Gabriella and Jude have each other as Mommy will certainly be stretched thin when the wee one comes. God has blessed me!  Everyday I am reminded of that. I get to watch these sweet little people develop into wonderful big people. Is there a better calling than this...don't think so.

And yes, those are real peonies that my honey bought me at Trader Joes!
