Our Gabriella started Kindergarten this week. We are so thankful for her little Co-op Home school Group and new teacher Mrs Cardwell. What a wonderful group of 5 little girls! Yes, all girls...:)
I home school her 3 days a week and she goes to "school" 2 days. She's loving it so far and is eager to learn.
Boy did her baby brother miss her the first day she was away. She is gone from 9-1 but for him...well, maybe that was too long to be without "Sis-sia"...that's his nick name he came up with for Gabriella. Presh.
The 3 days that Gabriella is home, Jude is right there beside her, wanting to do work like Sis-sia. She graciously let's him use her new colored pencils and crayons. He stayed in his PJs to drop Gabriella off...then we had a slow morning at home of reading, playing, lunch...just me and my boy. Gabriella got 3 years with me...just her and Mom. I think this will be good for Jude...enjoy these 2 months Jude...someone is going to cramp your style in October.
The Class
Kirra, Elizabeth, Mrs. Cardwell, Anna, Bethany & Gabriella
I keep reminding myself that she's 5...and only in Kindergarten. Kindergarten, Madelyn! I don't want to push her too hard, demand too much from her...what is it in me/us that wants our child to succeed, be the best, the smartest, the most clever, etc...Pride... Needing to be in Control.....maybe I think the smarter she is, the more talented she is, the greater reflection that is on me!...Yay for me, look what I did everyone...WRONG. Jesus, help me to remember you love her, made her who she is, gave her a brain, understanding, a personality and have called me to guide her, instruct her, inspire her and nurture her.
I want to do well as a home school mom...if she is going to be home schooled (and we don't know for how long) JM and I have said "Then we want to do it right!" Right... academically, spiritually, creatively... God is teaching me a lot of patience and self control through all of this. I'm excited about this year. Pray for me...I know having a newborn this October will shake things up a bit..we pray for a smooth transition for JM and me AND the kiddos.
