I ❤ LA....We ❤ it!

This past weekend we had a memorable family outing.
Decided to take the train to LA! This was the first time the kids had ever been on a train. The Fullerton train station is a quarter of a mile down the road from us...if that!. We drove over, hopped on the Metro link to Union Station and spent the day in this multi cultural city. I think I'm going to record this in my home school records as a Social Studies field trip. Yeah!

Waiting for our late train

These kicks were made for walking...and Gabriella did a lot of that.

Cargo Trains were LOUD

So thankful for our BOBB stroller. Made our life easier that day.

 Can you feel the excitement!?

On our way. Jude was especially excited that he didn't need to sit in a car seat.

That was a fast trip

Union Station

Perfect Southern California weather

Olvera Street
"Mama, I want one of those guitars Mama."
My boy, he's so musical.

I wish we had video of this. The mariachis were playing at the tables in the restaurant. Jude was mesmerized. He just wanted to listen and sway to the music. He wanted to play with them, be with them. He was getting lots of looks from the people eating, the hostess etc. I couldn't help but choke up because 1. my boy really loves music, truly loves it. and 2. Whether he knows it or not, these are his roots...and Mama's roots.

Mr. Churro, Tacos, Tortas, Burritos, Sopes..... Iceees. Sure, that goes.

Papa wanted to treat the kids and buy them a special something. We found a sweet little Mexican dress for Gabriella....and for Jude......
.
...his guitar. Look at his face.

After Olvera street we walked to China Town. It was a  good walk...Gabriella walked the whole way while we strolled the little guys. They both fell asleep. We enjoyed visiting China Town with just our Gabriella.

They missed the whole thing

My girl and me. She's growing up before my eyes. Love this little lady.

The hubs. He was behind the camera for most of the day.

One last little walk around downtown before home

Playing at the fountain at Union Station. Almost calling it a day.
