July and the tale end of June Recap

Summer Time!
Summer is supposed to be a time of rest, a break....na. Not in our home. We've been going going going. Thankfully we've had some time to rest in between. This Mama is tired though! A week after swimming lessons were over we jumped right into Adventure week at Church. This is our VBS program and there is nothing like it. It's a 1 week long program (music, skits, stations, bible time, scripture memory, crafts) in the evening so that parents can participate too. We serve dinner and then our program is from 6-8:15 pm. Hundreds of kids come to learn about our Savior Jesus and His love for them. This is not just a fun and games program, these kids hear the gospel and many children come to faith in Jesus!

Ansel's first time participating in Adventure week. He loved it and was excited to be part of the pre-school program this year.

Gabriella and her friend Lily Mei. She was so glad they were in the same group this year. They will be in the 4th grade this fall.
 Sillies
Space Wookie and something else I guess?!!

The Theme was "Lost in Space". I was happy to help out  with our Parent Cafe this year. The Parent Cafe is for any parents who bring their littles to Adventure week. We loved hosting them and providing a relaxing environment for them to hang out, talk, and have some homemade desserts and coffee  while they wait for their kids. The gals who head up our Parent Cafe are so creative! This is a picture of our dessert room! Remember the theme "Lost in Space".  Grounds Control! So clever.

Onto July!! We had a quiet 4th of July. We walked to the downtown fountains, kids got wet, we had a great salmon dinner and our firework show just outside our home. Simi's first 4th of July. Boom! Tin Foil hat the kids made for him.

Getting ready for the firework show

Next....family time and random shots

Simi loves to visit little Grandma at home. He is so comfortable with her!

Everyone loves to hold him
 ....can't you tell

Yes, I do bite those cheeks and arms and everything else.

A couple weeks back I woke up with a stomach bug that lasted about 24 hours. Grandma (God bless her) brought dinner for the family and these masks so no one else would pick up my flu. This is what these sillies did with the masks...but thank God, everyone else stayed well! They worked!

JM often takes picture of me and the baby in the early morning when he gets up for work.
I love this
His Eyes!!
Kisses from Papa...Simeon was half asleep and smiling!

Go Dodger Blue!! They all wanted to dress up like this because Omi and Opa were coming and they are Giants fans! Haha! Go Dodgers.  Boo Giants! I didn't have a jersey but I had the blue so I joined in.

Baseball Camp!!
This year Jude participated in a wonderful week long Baseball Camp. It's a fantastic program that our friend Ben heads up. Think Baseball Camp meet Bible Camp.  http://socalfcabaseball.org/camps
What an amazing ministry these professional Christian athletes have with these young boys.
Jude was in the Rookie Camp this year. He was so nervous but felt more and more comfortable as the day moved on.

Jude was chosen player of the day on Monday for being an encourager to his teammates.
 #1 fan

Jude and Coach "Sweetfeet". Such a great guy who encouraged Jude and really reached out to him. He nicknamed Jude "Speedy Jude". He's fast!

Birthdays!!

We have a 9 year old and a 6 year old in the house!!
Here is a picture of us celebrating early at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Where is sissy?

Grandpa and Grandma's gift to Jude (and Ansel too.) They were so excited and grateful! It was really sweet to see their reaction. Mom scored this wonderful train table, tracks and trains for $50 bucks  (the table alone cost $200 new!!) at a garage sale! Amazing!
The weekend Omi and Opa came down to celebrate. We were going to go to the beach and have a picnic and then dessert at Auntie Mo's but it POURED rain!!! In July!! So, we enjoyed time inside and the kids played a little in the rain and had a great time. Uncle Aaron and Auntie Robin came up from San Diego to celebrate too.

Cool Man, I'm 9!
Cool Man, I'm 6 and this is my Opa with a cool goat-tee!
 Bubbles after the rain!

My beautiful daughter. She's growing up...it hurts my heart.

And.....these non birthday kids just hung out and enjoyed! We enjoy them too. Phew! That was a busy July....Feeling blessed, and tired but more blessed and grateful than tired!
Ansel's scary frown that only he can do. It's so funny! Ask him to do it for you and you'll laugh!
