Here I am making some carrots for him. I have never blogged about my baby food making progress! It's such a huge part of my mommy duties. Here is a bit of what I did for Gabriella and what I now do for my little Jude. If you're interested in how to make your own baby food, get the Super Baby Food Book by Ruth Yaron. I love this book and am so grateful to have such a wonderful resource for making baby and toddler food. There's nothing like fresh home made.
I steamed the fresh carrots, pureed them in the food processor, and am now making servings in my little baby food ice cube trays. I love these trays. They are BPA free and come with lids (no freezer burn!)
After they are frozen I take out the cubes, store them in a freezer bag and when I'm ready to serve them to my munchkin, I put them in the toaster oven to thaw. Lunch is served. I've made tons of stuff for him...prunes, pears, mango, butternut squash, acorn squash, sweet potato, carrots, fresh green peas, and this week I'm going to give papaya a go.

Here I am sharing about this book with Grandma. She of course made her own baby food...no Gerber in those days.

hey Madelyn,
Where do you get the food cube trays with lids? I use normal ice cube trays and am always frustrated by the freezer burn. Isn't the Super Baby Food book amazing? I love it!
take care!
