JM's brother Aaron turned the big 3-0 this month. To celebrate, we took a little trip to Julian CA where he lives. JM's folks joined us too for the occasion. I had always heard of Julian from my parents. They would often spend their anniversaries at a little bed and breakfast in Julian. Mom would tell me about the quaint shops, tea houses and the apples.
We've never spent a significant time in Julian except for my cousin's snow storm wedding in 06. It was time we went to visit Aaron. It was wonderful to spend time with Aaron and the family, adventuring in his neck of the woods. The kids love being there and staying in Aaron's house with the stairs and their bedroom with the secret loft above.
Took a fun Birthday hike up to a beautiful peak at sunset. Chilly!
Too bad I packed tennies for my girl but when she saw them she decided to put them back in her closet (un-beknownst to me) because she wanted to wear her Toms for the trip....ah well....she hiked pretty darn good in those Toms.
Made it to the top!
Birthday Boy and one of his new lenses we got him for his i-phone.
The next day after church and lunch we few Opa's kite. This is one of the kid's favorite things. Lots of open space and some good wind.
Jude likes to be with his Opa
Yes.....this is comfortable for me. I find this stance very relaxing. Teased I am about it ....except by
Gabriella. 2 peas in a pod
It was a great trip and we are hoping to get out there again this summer, God willing.
Happy 30 A-dub. We love you brother. We're in the same decade for a couple months. finally.:)
