It always hurts my heart to see Christmas over with. For weeks and weeks we prepare and celebrate...all our homes, neighborhoods, stores, libraries, trader joe's, even cars are decorated. Continuous Christmas music all month long...there's even a few crazies who listen to yuletide carols as soon as Halloween in over. (Sorry...that's too much for me. )
So...December 25th hits and then there's the huge after Christmas Blow!! Over....it's all over....Christmas trees in the trash, no more music on the airwaves, all the adds in the paper are for New Years Eve and some crazy stores have hearts advertised for Valentine's Day. Horrid I say. It's all so sudden...the after Christmas blow, ya know?! Why is that? Why is it all forgotten?
Ok I'm done now and off of my box, plus I don't have time to write more...crying kids calling.
Anyways, thankful that we can look forward to this wonderful season again next year. I do love celebrating Christmas. It really is my favorite time of the year. This year was so special for our family. It was exactly what we needed. Here are some snapshots of our blessed time together.
This is Gabriella's School recital. The girls recited much of Luke 2, Some of he Shorter Catechism, A Snow poem by Robert Frost and sang Angels We Have Heard on High.
I've never met anyone who loves school more. She enjoys it so much and loves her friends. She can't wait to start back on Monday.
Christmas Morning started with Advent, reading the Christmas story and papa read Luke 2 while Gabriella recited.

The Day after Christmas the 5 of us drove up to Big Bear. We rented a little cabin up in Sugar loaf. It was so cold but we had a great time. This was the first time the boys have ever been in the snow. Gabriella has but she hardly remembers it. Total Winter Wonderland.
Snow Angels
These kids were so cold. They lasted about 20 minutes that day and then cried because they were so freezing...well, Ansel didn't....that kid was not phased.
Their first snow man. Note the Munich snow hat. He borrowed that from JM for the picture.
At Big Bear Village
JM bought the kids a disc so they could go sledding in the village. It was so much fun for all of us!
This kid loved being in the snow. His hands and feet were frozen but he could care less.
Note the sock mittens. Got to do what you gotta do.
