Very Virchuosa

Remember way back...when she refused to play at her first recital (it was only when everyone else left the recital hall that she played for the family). The next recital she played but didn't want to bow....progress I say. The following recital she played and I think did a quick little bow....again Progress!!

This time she not only played, bowed but said "Mom, that was fun, I want to do it again!" Gabriella has come a long way. I'm not going to lie....some days we struggle to practice..."It's hard, I don't feel like it....I don't want to play violin" she says. My response.."This is part of your education my dear. When you are 18 and go off to College, you can decide if you want to continue with the violin." Done. This has been a challenge and a blessing for her. Like anything we strive to achieve or do well...hard work and practice are part of the deal.

This recital was extra special. For the recital Gabriella's teacher Lindsay had the kids perform at a retirement home. The kids were the "entertainment" during their dinner time. You should have seen the faces on these sweet elderly folk. They appreciated and enjoyed the kids so much. We continue to remind Gabriella that God has given her a gift...that when she plays her violin, she is blessing others. She certainly did that day.:) Grandpa, Grandma, little Grandma and Omi and Opa came as well. It was a special time.
