Christmas 2009

What a joyous Christmas we had this year. We spent Christmas with both the Mendoza and Warkentin families. JM's parents and brother visited and stayed withus this year. Poor John-Mark had the flu but was feeling a little better on Christmas day thankfully. John-Mark had several days off after Christmas. We loved having him home! We spent a lot of time taking walks, drawing, digging in the garden and going to the park. We also went to see Mary Poppins at the Ahmanson theater! Thanks for that special Christmas gift Grandma and Grandpa! It was wonderful and so colorful! Gabriella (and John-Mark and I) couldn't stop singing the songs.

This Christmas Gabriella and I made lots of little crafts. This is a baby Jesus craft that I came up with. She made these for her Grandparents. The manger is a coffee filter. We also used felt, pipe cleaners and some raffia for the hay....oh and of course glitter glue and watercolor paint for decoration.

The next craft that we made were Cinnamon Apple Sauce Ornaments. We made the dough out of the 2 ingredients and baked for 2 1/2 hours at 200! The house smelled like Christmas!! We then decorated with glitter glue and added a ribbon. We gave them to all of our neighbors and the grandparents. We even kept a couple for ourselves.

Like I said, we did a lot of drawing this Christmas. Gabriella is quite the artist and speller! Here is a drawing of her(left) and Jude (twice..middle and right). JM told her how to spell Jude and she did it! I love her flippy hair on the left.:)

I drew the angel on the right and she drew the one on the left. So proud of our girl!

Our little Jude is 5 months...almost 6! He is talking a lot and laughing and SCREAMING! :) We love our little guy!
I love how he's holding his tummy like it hurts from laughing so hard! Just had a bath.
Heeee!

Every year my family has an annual cookie bake. We bake biscotti, cookies etc. This year on Christmas Eve Geri, JM's mom, joined us.

My first Christmas!

Christmas Day we had a nice time at home with JM's folks and brother. Later that day we went over to my folk's house for dinner.
Here is Uncle Ronnie and Gabriella making homemade Raw Almond Vanilla Ice cream. No diary and no sugar, just sweetened with dates and grade B Maple syrup. So delicious!

For Christmas I gave my brother something he was missing for several years. While cleaning out my parent's garage I found his old Batman car (his favorite super hero)....from the 60s!! He loved it! Here is Gabriella holding the car.

Hey Mad!
It was fun to look at the pics and relive the memories of our Christmas with you. So fun, inspite of JM being sick. I love your monthly pics of Jude-love seeing those blue eyes!
