I feel like the years are going by so quickly and every holiday flies by. This Easter really felt different. I really wanted our family to have a meaningful focused time celebrating Jesus and His Resurrection this year. JM and I talked last night and really felt like our hearts were prepared this season.
Thursday night JM and I watched the Passion of the Christ. It had been a while. It's a hard one to swallow and so sobering. We'd like to to watch it every year to remember what Jesus went through. The next night our family went to our Good Friday service at church. Watching the movie the night before made Friday night all the more powerful. Grandma and little Grandma were able to join us that night and were so blessed by all the readings, songs sung and video. Saturday was JM's B-day (more on that later). In the afternoon we dyed eggs with Gabriella while little brother napped. Sorry Jude...maybe next year bud. This was Gabriella's first time to dye eggs. What is it about white vinegar and Paas that brings you back to your childhood?
The Birthday Boy
Sunday we celebrated at our church. I sang in the choir and once again loved doing that with my friends! It made for a long day but it was well worth it! After that we went to Grandpa and Grandma's house for a delish dinner. Grandpa hid the eggs in their back yard and the kids had so much fun finding them....especially the confetti eggs I made.
My Grandpa Chavira was the King of confetti eggs. He used to fill mass amounts of them. I vaguely remember him hiding those eggs in his yard. Sometimes he'd sneak a raw egg in the mix. Someone ended up with a head full of yolk. Here Gabriella is cracking a confetti egg on Grandma.
Our little chef helping Grandma make an Easter/JM birthday cake. :)
Omi and Opa sent a box of Resurrection Eggs to the kids in the mail early this week. Gabriella so enjoyed these this season and used these to tell the whole story of Jesus' death and Resurrection. I wish I had a picture of her and Grandpa reading all the scriptures and looking inside the eggs on Easter. Precious.

Tada! Here is our Hill of Calvary. See the tomb..It's EMPTY!! He is Risen Indeed!
