Quiet Time Box

I came across this post (scroll down once you click on it...it's the first post at the bottom)  from a blog that I look at and thought this was a great idea for Miss Gabriella. JM and I have been talking more and more about what it means to shepherd our kids. (I've been reading this classic book as of late.)  JM and I  desire to teach our kids how to follow Christ, to trust and obey Him. It's important that they understand that we do these things because we love Him not because these are the rules to be a "good" Christian. Because we love Him, we desire to know Him, our Maker, Creator, God.

I organized a little "quiet time box" for Gabriella  so she can learn how to be still, sit with Jesus, read about Him and others inspirational stories. I've collected little books over the years and have even included some of mine from when I was a kid. The blog I linked mentioned collecting books from garage sales, thrift stores etc. Yes! I've found lots of little treasures for little cost at thrift stores.

"The Prayers for Little People" was mine from the 70's. "Gods Plan for Growing Things" and "God is Good" I found at a Thrift Store. There is a "Little Golden Book Inspirational Tales" collection that is great. It has a variety of Bible stories, prayers and stories with morals, about friendship, loving your parents etc. "The Bible In Picture for Little Eyes" is a great first Bible. Our church gives these to our children on the day of their dedication.
Hope your little one enjoys their "quiet time box" and that you can enjoy it with them too.

What a great idea and inspiration to others. We love how you are intentional about discipling your children.
We commit to doing our part as grandparents, as much as we are able. Love you all.
